Ontario Soccer, along with its many district branches and clubs, is always looking to help new match officials get going! Ontario Soccer offers three courses for those looking to become registered match officials: Small Sided Clinics, Entry Level Clinics and Futsal Clinics. Please note: Clinics are only held once a year throughout the Spring Season.
If you would like to become a referee please use one of the three search engines in the above link to find a suitable course. When you have found the course that best suits your requirements, click on the register link to register for that course. After you have submitted your registration form you will be sent an email with further instructions
Referees can be paid or have their field time used toward community service hours.
Returning referees - don't forget to renew on-line with Ontario Soccer.
H.E.A.D.S. has an excellent support and development program for new refs. Adults as well as young people are encouraged to give it a try!
Please have a look at the video link below. The video is meant to spark conversation around match official abuse and the actions and behaviours of those watching the numerous games played every day. The rise in abuse has drawn attention to a problem that has become endemic and needs to be addressed actively.
Everyone is learning and doing their best, Coaches, Players and Referees, everyone deserves to be treated with respect.
